Taku Toastmasters is the oldest Toastmaster Club in Alaska, chartered in 1949.
Learn to become more confident with public speaking in a supportive environment!
Whatever your goals may be, much of your success in life will depend on your ability to speak. People who can effectively communicate possess one of the skills necessary for a successful life. Taku Toastmasters provides the tools that enable people to develop this skill. In Toastmasters, you learn by doing; by actually speaking to the group. You learn in comfortable surroundings, not in a structured classroom environment.
Taku Toastmasters is a part of Toastmasters International. This is a non-profit organization which gives its members the opportunity to develop and improve their public speaking abilities through local club meetings, training seminars and speech contests. Toastmasters International includes more than 199,000 men and women in more than 9,300 clubs in more than 70 countries.
Whether you're speaking to the board of directors, your customers, your co-workers or your kids, Taku Toastmasters can help you do it better.
You'll learn and practice in a friendly, comfortable environment with people who are there for the same reason you areto become confident public speakers and good communicators.
At Taku Toastmasters, members learn by speaking to groups and working with others in a supportive environment. Our club is made up of 20 to 30 people who meet once a week for about an hour. Each meeting is conprised of small speaking roles (Timer, Grammarian, Table Topics, Evaluation of speeches, General Evaluator, Toastmaster) in addition to prepared speeches.
